Abstract

LASER disc decompression has become one of the fascinating methods in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation in recent years because it is safe, easy, minimally invasive, accurate and takes short time. Fifty-one patients with symptomatic lumbar
disc
herniation who had not been relieved by conservative managements were treated with laser disc decompression using a Nd: YAG laser at 1.064㎛ from July 1994 Eul-Ji General Hopital in Tae Jon. Among them, 33 patients were followed for more than 1
year.
